About
I am a mixed media artist currently based in Ojai, California. My work incorporates found materials from my surroundings and draws attention to minutiae that are often overlooked in everyday life.
Forever fascinated by intricacies, I become transfixed by the most naturally occurring events—the mystical gradience in an Australian opal, the unfurling of a fern on the side of a waterfall, the specks of limestone in an otherwise arenaceous beach. Beyond the natural world, I lose myself in the complexities of woven textiles, intricate jewelry, and couture clothing. The allure of these details amid something larger is a source of great inspiration for my work.
My love of the natural world, fashion and home decor led me to mindfully create modern pieces of art. By integrating organic materials, such as shells, raffia, and sea glass, I aim to highlight the healing effects of nature by bringing the outside in. Gathering, stitching, knotting and arranging are slow and intentional processes which allow me to be meditative in my practice and create unique small-quantity pieces. My pieces are a celebration of texture, movement, and the romance found in the shadows of dancing palms and blinding shimmer of the setting sun on the rippling sea.
As art is interactive in essence, my approach to commissions focuses on collaboration with clients to create works that they personally connect with—whether that be through concept, material, or design. My hope is to help us live more sustainably through the inclusion of consciously curated investment pieces in our homes.
